in every kid since 1968.
Imagine a school wholeheartedly dedicated to creating a learning experience around the unique needs and passions of each student. That’s Greenhills. In intensely smart classes, our teachers push students to know the depth of what they’re truly capable of — from Jazz and 2D Design to Conceptual Physics.
Forty-four Greenhills upper school students traveled to Kellogg Community College in Battle Creek on May 3 and 4 to compete at the 2024 Michigan Interscholastic Forensic Association State Finals. Eight returned as state champions, 24 as state finalists, and nine as semi finalists. Overall, the team captured second place in the Class B category—a class level higher than the team has competed in in the past.
Heading into the final contests of its season, the Greenhills varsity lacrosse team looks to build on the incremental successes achieved this season.
Greenhills baseball is midway through one of its most challenging schedules in recent history. The team has already competed in three games against two of last year’s state finalists. It has faced teams with strong baseball programs, like University Liggett, Plymouth Christian, and Father Gabriel Richard. And it has done so with some key players on the bench because of injuries. Despite all the odds stacked against them, the Gryphons have battled to a four and eight record—including five losses by two or fewer runs—and they’re playing well enough to compete for conference- and district-championships.
Going into the season, first-year girls basketball head coach Taylor Parker knew that, although the team might not be bound for the state championship, the players had a strong foundation and desire to be better.
Congratulations to Greenhills School seniors Navya Ashok and Lucas Nor on being named 2024 MHSAA Scholar-Athlete Award winners. More than 1,600 student-athletes from throughout Michigan submitted applications to be considered for this award. Only 120 were named finalists and just 32 would become Scholar-Athletes who would each receive a $2,000 college scholarship.
And we do our very best to draw it out daily. On average, any two people have 99.9% identical DNA. That means what makes you you is what comes from that remaining 0.1%. At Greenhills, we've crafted our entire 6th- through 12th-grade experience (and our approach to teaching) to unleash the full power of that 0.1%. So you can go out into the world — uniquely and confidently you. A one-of-a-kind work of art with the ability to do anything you set your very distinctive brain to.
